Over charging for unused electricity
We had solar panels installed in February and have been being overcharged for electricity that we are not even using. I have called in to reliant several times and no one informed me that we need to switch our plan type until I called in today to see why we are paying so much.
The representative apologized repeatedly that no on e had caught this before now and said I would need to speak to a supervisor.
I called the number she gave me and was told 3 more times to call different numbers than was put on hold for an hour and 7 minutes before the supervisor came on and proceeded to tell me it's not his job to tell me and refused to refund me anything toward the overpayment since February or correct the current bill. This is not good customer service at all!

In late 2016, we installed solar panels on our house and signed
up for the Simple Solar Sellback program with Reliant Energy, in
which Reliant would purchase the electricity generated by our
solar panels at the same rate that they charged us for the
electricity we purchased from them. This agreement was for 12
months, but included an indefinite renewal clause, allowing us to
maintain it as long as we continued to renew the agreement.
The program was discontinued, but were able to enforce the
renewal clause to keep our agreement active.
This year, they
refused to honor the renewal. Attempts to resolve were made on
Febuary 21 and February 23.
In both instances, the
representatives refused to acknowledge the agreement or allow
us to speak with supervisors or other management. On Feb 28,
we were compelled to accept a lower buyback rate
(approximately 70%) in order to maintain any energy plan.
